Men's Doubles

3rd seeds Phil Ogier and Jez Powell (Pictured) will play against the unseeded combination of Alex Robinson and Liam Robilliard in the final.

The entertaining tournament threw up a lot of high quality close encounters, 2 of which occurred at the Last 16 stage. Ben Foss and Ryan Bichard almost upset the formbooks during their clash against the experienced Division 1 pairing of Mark Pipet and Phil Hunkin, but just fell short 11-9 in the 7th and deciding game.

Another hard fought game came between 2nd seeds Joshua and Lawrence Stacey and the unseeded pairing of Paul Hainsworth and Matt Stubbington. The underdogs led 3-0 and were seemingly heading towards a straight game win whilst at 7-7 in the 4th, however the twins dug deep and battled through in 7, 11-8 the score in the final end.

Meanwhile, the Quarter finals saw yet another enthralling 7 game encounter between Robinson/Robilliard and the 4th seeded Langlois brothers, Adam and Olly. This time the 7th end went all the way past the regulation 11 points and a netted return by Adam off Robinson's serve at 11-10, sealed it for the finalists.

Robinson and Robilliard were made to work harder than expected in their semi final against Derek Webb and Andre Bichard, who played some excellent stuff towards the latter stages of the match. They came back from 3-0 down to force a 6th, however the expected victors came through that leg 11-7 to seal the 4-2 win.

Ogier and Powell came up against Pipet and Hunkin, who had surprisingly powered past the Stacey twins over the course of 5 games at the Quarter final stage. This was yet another topsy turvy battle and victory was finally claimed by the ever so narrow scoreline of 17-15 in the 6th game of the encounter.

Women's Doubles

The Women's Doubles in contrast did not throw up any humdingers and the expected teams of Dawn Morgan/Kay Chivers and Chloe Le Tissier/Charlotte Casey made the final in line with their seedings.

Morgan and Chivers came through against Sam Kershaw and Paula Le Ber in straight games and Le Tissier and Casey overcame Becks O'Keefe and Daisy Kershaw in 5 games.
