Guernsey’s Men are on course for a strong finish to their World Championship campaign after beating Iceland 3-2 earlier today. Garry Dodd remains undefeated as he recorded another 2 straight game victories, this time over his Icelandic opposition. Scott Romeril went down in straight games to Iceland number 3 Magnus K Magnusson, leaving Olly Langlois to round off the win by defeating the Iceland number 2 in the all important decider.

They have 1 match remaining against Togo tomorrow and this will decide their final position which will be 101 or 102 depending on the outcome of the match.

Guernsey’s Women were again defeated 3-2, this time the Pakistan outfit proving too strong over the duration. Alice Loveridge continued her good unbeaten run by winning both of her singles matches, but the Sarnians were again left wanting for the all important 3rd rubber. Neither Dawn Morgan or Beth Priest were able to take any legs off their opposition.

They also have 1 match remaining tomorrow against Qatar to decide if they finish 83rd or 84th
