Week 12 - 17th August

League Table  |   Results

Hi Everyone

Tonight we had 39 players, 9 tables of four and 1 table of 3.

Unfortunately this was the final night of the summer league for this year, where has the time passed we ask ourselves!?  During the evening we had some very good matches but also knew that Andy Ferbrache and Andy Ozanne were fighting it out for runner up position.

Andy Ferbrache had a hard night as he was playing on table 1 against Jez Powell, Andy Gill and nephew Jamie Ferbrache.  Andy was trying very hard and beat Jamie which gave him his first 3 games/points.  He then had to play Andy Gill and just missed out securing another point by losing to Andy 13-11 in the third game.  He then played Jez and won a game giving him another point and lost 2 games on deuce which would have given him another 2 points.  Therefore 7 points would have been nice but finished with 4 points.

On table 7 Andy Ozanne was having his own battle against Brian Le Cras, Seb Jennings and Helen Barker.  Andy’s first match was against Helen which he just won 13-11 in the final game giving him 3 points.  Andy then got another 3 points off Seb making 6 but lost to Brian 3-0 so finishing on 6 points which was enough for him to secure runner up position.

So the final result was Josh Stacey the winner on 86 points and Andy Ozanne runner up with 80.

The highest amount of players this summer league was 57 and the lowest was 39.

Keith and I would like to thank you all for playing and making it so successful and enjoyable.  Also a big thank you to Ben Foote for getting the results on the website and in the Guernsey Press.   It was also lovely to see so many juniors taking part.  The presentation will take place on Monday 12 September before the first tournament begins which is The St Pauls Handicap starting at 7pm.

Tonight’s winning table are:

Table 1 Jez Powell. 2 Steve Ozanne. 3 Martin Sarre. 4 Terry Trustum. 5 Ben Foote.   6 Shane Cotter. 7 Brian Le Cras.

8 Henri Whitehorne. 9 Alex Hutchinson. 10 Ollie Sparks

Until next year,

Never give up and have fun!!

Week 11 - 10th August

League Table  |   Results

Hi Everyone

Tonight we had 43 players, 10 tables of four and 1 table of 3.

We now have one week left but we do have a winner and that is Josh Stacey even though a little birdie told me that he is away on holiday next week.  But it is very close for the runner up position and that will be between Andy Ferbrache and Andy Ozanne, so still very exciting!!!!!

Table 1 Josh Stacey won all of his games.  But there were two very good matches between Joe Bourgaize and Chas Elliott with Joe just edging out Chas in the 5th game 13-11.  Also between Chas and Nye Matthew with Chas just losing again in the final game.  But well done Chas for reaching top table again.  Table 2 We had some good games, but Andy Gill and on form Andy Ferbrache were too strong for Steve Ozanne and Richard Edwards

Table 3 Consisted of Keith Opie, Jamie Ferbrache, Paula Le Ber and Mo James.  Jamie was pretty much in control but the best match was between Mo and Keith with Keith just pulling through in the final game 13-11.  Table 4 Gary Willcocks, Pete Vivian, Brian Ferbrache and Ben Foote.  Ben was a little rusty but for anyone who may not know, but I doubt it; Ben has just come back from Umpiring at the Commonwealth Games and a grand job he did so from all of us Ben congratulations.  Gary and Brian both finished with 7 points but as Gary beat Brian he finished first.

Table 5 was a tough ask for Andy Ozanne as he has played well over the weeks to come down so far.  He was up against young up and coming Shelby Timms and the experienced Shaun Mosley and Brandon Ferbrache.  Shaun and Brandon both finished on 8 points but as Shaun beat Brandon in the final game he finished top.  Table 6 There was a very good game between a very young Aiden Ozanne who is the son of Andy and Shane Cotter and young Aiden won 11-8 in the final game which put him in second spot with Steve Martin finishing top.

Table 7 Two young players Ollie Sparks and Barnaby Groves and two should I say more experienced players Derek Carter and Mike Brehaut.  On this occasion the experience shone through and Derek and Mike finished in top positions.  Table 8 Sandra Sebire, Sabato Folmi, Mark Windsor and Tia Timms.  An excellent match between Sandra and Sabato with Sandra just winning 14-12 in the final game.

Table 9 Very good table tennis with 3 matches going the full distance between Brian Le Cras, Derek Cave and Alex Whitten.  Just a little too strong for Seb Jennings but hopefully not for much longer.  Keep practising Seb and you will soon gain the experience that you need.  Table 10 A very good match between young Alex Hutchinson and should I say a more advanced John Mauger, but Alex played very well and held his nerve to win 11-9 in the final game.  But young Albie Lihou was too strong for all of them.

Table 11 just 3 players best of 7 with Micah finishing ahead  of Charlotte Dicker and Ella Le Ber.

Tonight’s winning table are:

Table 1 Josh Stacey. 2 Andy Gill. 3 Jamie Ferbrache. 4 Gary Willcocks. 5 Shaun Mosley. 6 Peter Vivian.

7 Derek Carter. 8 Mark Windsor. 9 Derek Cave. 10 Albie Lihou. 11 Micah Cohen.

Until next week, don’t be late 7.25 pm is the cut off time.

Never give up!!

League Table  |   Results

Hi Everyone

Tonight we had 39 players, 9 tables of four and 1 table of 3.

Well now it gets very exciting as we have two potential winners both fighting for top spot, Josh Stacey and Andy Ozanne are both on the same points at present if we knock off their worst two weeks, so the final stages are going to be exciting with only 2 weeks left.

Table 1 Lawrence Stacey came out ahead of his brother Josh but Andy Gill managed to take a game off each of them.  It was nice to see Martin Sarre back.  A tough table to start with but had some very close games against Andy.

Table 2 Three matches went to 5 games between Joe Bourgaize, Jamie Ferbrache, Chas Elliott and Mo James.  Joe beat Jamie in the final game, Chas beat Mo 11-5 in the final game and Joe beat Chas in the final game 11-8.  Therefore Joe and Chas finished in first and second place, which means they will both be on table 1 next week!

Table 3 Nye Matthew and Andy Ferbrache both had a very good night with Nye edging Andy out 13-11 in the final game.  Gary Willcocks eventually worked out Sean Mosley but had to work hard and won 3-1, everyone look out for Gary he is a dark horse and slowly improving each week.  Table 4 Richard Edwards was on fine form winning all of his matches.  Keith Opie and Steve Martin both finished with 6 points but as Keith beat Steve he finished in second place.

Table 5 Terry Trustum also was on fine form winning all of his matches.  Mick Ingrouille had a very unlucky evening losing to Terry 9-11 in the final game and also to Shane Cotter 7-11 in the final game but still finished second on points, so well deserved Mick.  Table 6 Peter Vivian played very well winning his table.  Robert Naftel also did very well coming second but had a couple of tough matches against Brian Le Cras and Peter.  Winning against Brian in the final game but just losing to Peter.

Table 7 Andy Ozanne proved himself once again winning all of his matches against Alex Hutchinson, Helen Barker and Luke Evans.  Table 8 Young Aiden Ozanne played very well beating Alex Whitten, Ollie Sparks and Cheryl Wingrave.  Table 9 There was a very long game between Sandra Sebire and Sonia Le Page with Sandra just coming out on top 12-10 in the final game.

Table 10 was a table of three which means they play best of 7 games instead of 5. It consisted of Andy Ingrouille, Ella Le Ber and Sabato Folmi.  With the experienced Sabato finishing top and Andy in second place.

Tonight’s winning table are:

Table 1 Lawrence Stacey. 2 Joe Bourgaize. 3 Nye Matthew. 4 Richard Edwards. 5 Terry Trustum.

6 Peter Vivian. 7 Andy Ozanne. 8 Aiden Ozanne. 9 Barnaby Groves. 10 Sabato Folmi.

Until next week, don’t be late 7.25 pm is the cut off time.

League Table  |   Results

Hi Everyone

Tonight we had 41 players, 9 tables of four and 1 table of 5.

Table 1 we had two very close games, Jez Powell and Lawrence Stacey with Lawrence winning 14-12 in the final game.  Then Gary Willcocks against Chas Elliott with Chas winning 11-8 in the final game, but Gary did mention this week that he felt elated.

Table 2 Shelby Timms has played very well to reach this table and although beaten by Josh, Matt and Andy Gill played some very good table tennis also taking a game off Andy.  Keith and myself are very pleased this year that she will be playing with us and not against.

Table 3 was a strong table for Oskar Cleal and Connor Powell joined by Joe Bourgaize and Steve Ozanne.  But Connor had a very good match against Steve and only lost 7-11 in the final game.

Table 4 was another mixed bag with Jamie Ferbrache and Nye Matthew, then we had Henri Whitehorn and Steve Martin.  Henri did struggle but had a good match against Jamie who went on to win the table, losing 11-13, 10-12, 6-11.  Steve also struggled but beat Henri.  A good match between Nye and Jamie with Jamie coming out on top 11-6 in the final game.

Table 5 Andy Ferbrache was on good form but did drop a game to Mick Ingrouille.  Keith Opie finished in second place beating Mick and Shane Cotter.

Table 6 consisted of Brian Le Cras, Mo James, Terry Trustum and Richard Edwards.  There were two very good games with Mo just losing out to Terry 17-19 in the final game and Terry losing out to Richard 8-11 in the final game.

Table 7 A good game between young Barney Groves against the experienced Juliette Yeaman with Juliette winning 11-9 in the final game.  Just proves our youngsters are getting better all the time.

Table 8 all, bar one match went to four games with Alex Cleal, Vikki Stacey, Mark Windsor and Rosemary Powell.  A lot of close games but the one that stood out for me was between Mark and Rosemary which was 9-11, 11-9, 9-11, 9-11 with Rosemary winning.  At the end of the evening they both finished on 5 points which meant Rosemary finished above Mark.

Table 9 a couple of close games between Seb Jennings and Helen Barker with Helen winning the final game.  The other between Richard Wellfair and Seb with Seb this time winning the final game.  Alex Whitten finished in second place.

Table 10 was a table of five with Ollie Sparks playing very well and Albie Lihou finishing second.

Tonight’s winning tables are:

Table 1 Lawrence Stacey. 2 Josh Stacey. 3 Steve Ozanne. 4 Jamie Ferbrache. 5 Andy Ferbrache.

6 Richard Edwards.7 Brandon Ferbrache. 8 Vikki Stacey. 9 Helen Barker. 10 Ollie Sparks.

Until next week, don’t be late 7.25 pm is the cut off time.

League Table  |   Results

Hi Everyone

Tonight we had 40 players, 10 tables of four.  This is are lowest so far so not too bad to say we are already two thirds of the way through.  In that time we have had 382 players.

Table 1 was different tonight as out of 4 only Matt Casey played so he was joined by Jez Powell, Jamie Ferbrache and Terry Trustum.  The highlight of that table was Jez and Matt with Jez winning 12-10 in the deciding game.  Table 2 was definitely a veterans table made up of Chas, Andy Ferbrache, Keith and Gary.  Gary managed to win his table but got very frustrated whilst playing Andy, not sure why but he did lose!!!! He is now looking forward to playing on table 1 next week (finally Gary!!!).

Table 3 Mark Windsor played very well, he finished 3rd but took Pete Vivian and Brian Ferbrache to 5 games.  Shelby finished 2nd, not quite got the hang of Brian’s chop, don’t worry Shelby we will help you.  Table 4 Young Oskar Cleal had a good win over the experienced Mo James but didn’t quite beat Sean but all games were very close and he finished in 2nd place.

Table 5 Connor Powell played very well but had a tough game against Robert Naftel finally taking him out 11-6 in the final game.  Steve Martin finished 2nd.  Table 6 A strong Henri Whitehorne won all of his matches and will be down to table 4 next week.  Seb Jennings had a hard match against Shane Cotter and just missed out 11-9 in the final game, Shane finished in 2nd place.   Table 7 Closest match was between Keith De Carteret and Rachel Sharp, after a long battle Rachel winning 11-5 in the final game.  Brian Le Cras finished second.

Table 8 Andy Ozanne won his table and now goes into top position with 65 points.  There was a hard match between Barney Groves and Albie Lihou with Barney edging out Albie 17-15 in the final game which meant Barney finished 2nd.  Your turn next time Albie.  Table 9 Young Aiden Ozanne did very well, son of Andy winning his table against Alex Cleal, Ethan Bruce-Davies, and Sandra Sebire.  Alex finished in second place.

Table 10 Richard Wellfair did very well and finished in second place and Xavier Ingrouille first.  Four matches went to 5 games with Xavier beating Richard 11-9 in the final game.

Tonight’s winning table are:

Table 1 Jez Powell. 2 Gary Willcocks. 3 Brian Ferbrache. 4 Sean Mosley. 5 Connor Powell.  6 Henri Whitehorne.

Week 5 - 29th June

League Table   |   Results

Tonight we had 45 players, 10 tables of four and 1 table of five.

Table 1 We had our two top players Josh and Lawrence Stacey on top form.

Table 2 Steve Ozanne thought it was tough on table 1 last week but on table 2 he had three 5 setters against Joe Bourgaize, Nye Matthew and Jamie Ferbrache.  He managed to win two of them but lost to Nye 6-11 in the 5th.  Despite this he finished top so sorry Steve back to table 1 next week.  Nye also finished second and I know will be looking forward to also playing on 1 next week.   Table 3 was also a tough table with 4 matches going to 5.  But it was our veteran Mo James who came out on top and I am sure looking forward to the experience of playing on table 1 next week!!!!  Finishing second just 1 point behind was Andy Ferbrache.

Table 4 there was a very good match between Brandon Ferbrache and Ben Foote with Ben sneaking it 12-10 in the 5th.  Table 5 was a table of Panthers players with Shaun Mosley being the strongest link but he had to work hard and all his matches went to four games.  So next week he will be on table 3. Richard Edwards finished in second place 2 points behind.

Table 6 We have our experienced player and ex-champion Gary Willcocks slowly getting his form back just losing a game to each of his opponents.  Gary will be on table 4 next week slowly working his way down.  Table 7 We just had one 5 setter between Ken Falla and Mick Ingrouille with Ken finishing on top.

Table 8 We had two matches going to 5 with Andy Ozanne in both of them.  The first was against Brian Le Cras with Andy finally winning 11-8 in the 5th.  The second was against Lynn Finn with Andy securing his top spot by winning 11-9 in the final game.  Table 9 Dave Finn proved himself by winning all of his games with plenty of side spin.  There was a very good game between our very young Alex Hutchinson and Rachel Sharp with Alex never giving up and winning in the 5th 13-11.

Table 10 Derek Cave won all of his matches with Alex Whitten finishing in second place.  Table 11 Micah Cohen won his table with Barney Groves in second place.

Week 4 - 22nd June

League Table   |   Results

Hi Everyone

Tonight we had 57 players, 13 tables of four and 1 table of five.  What a fantastic turnout.!

Table 1 was a bit too strong for Nye Matthew and Steve Ozanne with Lawrence Stacey finishing top with Joe Bourgaize just 2 games behind.  Table 2 Jamie Ferbrache had a couple of 5 setters just beating Shaun Mosley 11-9 in the final set but then losing to Andy Gill in the final set.   Table 3 was a tough table with Josh Stacey and Ben Sharp finishing 1st and 2nd but Keith Opie and Brian Ferbrache had a ding dong match with Keith winning 12-10 in the final set.

Table 4 we had a 3 way tie between Marli Barker, Martin Sarre and Chas Elliott so then it goes on count back which is who has the most points so first was Martin Sarre and second Chas Elliott, always tough when that happens.  Table 5 Mo James had a hard night losing to Steve Martin 11-9 in the final set but then beating Brandon Ferbrache 11-9 in the final set.  This still didn’t help, better luck next week Mo.

Table 6 We had one of our younger players Oskar Cleal who appears to be improving each week and finished level with Richard Edwards, but Oskar came out on top beating Richard.  Well done Oskar keep it up.

Table 7 We had the experienced Juliette Yeaman playing very well to win all of her games against Pete Vivian, Jenny Powell and Vicki Stacey.  Table 8 We also had the experienced player, Gary Willcocks who is slowly getting his game back, unfortunately for the youngsters he was up against.  Keep it up Gary and you will soon be on table 1.  Table 9 We had another tie between Lynn Finn and Mick Ingrouille, unfortunately for Lynn, Mick beat her so finished in third place with Derek Carter wining the table.

Table 10 Andy Ozanne beat the experienced Brian Le Cras and finished first.  Working your way up nicely Andy keep going.  Table 11 Ollie Sparks finished first and on the way had a very good win over the experienced Dave Finn, well done Ollie.  Table 12 Derek Cave won with Alex Whitten finishing in second place.

Table 13 Karen Brouard was back with us winning her table with young Albie Lihou coming second.  Finally table 14 was a table of 5 with all juniors apart from Sabato Folmi, Barney Groves, Ella Le Ber, Charlotte Dicker and Micah Cohen.  With Barney Groves finishing first and Charlotte Dicker second.

Tonight’s winning tables are:

Table 1 Lawrence Stacey.  2 Andy Gill.  3 Josh Stacey.  4 Martin Sarre.  5 Andy Ferbrache.   6 Oskar Cleal.  7 Juliette Yeaman.

8 Gary Willcocks.  9 Derek Carter.  10 Andy Ozanne.  11 Ollie Sparks.  12 Derek Cave.  13 Karen Brouard.  14 Barney Groves

League Table   |   Results

Hi Everyone

Tonight we had 55 players, 10 tables of four and 3 tables of five.

So great to see so many players turn up on what was a wonderful hot sunny day.  Looking at the scores there appears to have been some exciting matches.

Table 1 was very strong with two matches being decided in the final game which was Josh Stacey and Jez Powell, Josh Stacey and Lawrence Stacey with Lawrence winning on both occasions.  Table 2 we had 3 matches being decided in the final game with Joe Bourgaize and Steve Ozanne eventually pulling through against Ben Sharp and Ryan Gilson.

Table 3 we had 5 players and nice to see the return of Jamie Ferbrache after being out for a season due to injury.  Nye Matthew finished top with Jamie finishing second on count back between Chas Elliott and Gary Willcocks.   Table 4 had a very exciting match between Shaun Mosley and Andy Ferbrache with Andy coming out on top 19-21 in the decider.  Despite that it was Shaun that finished 1st with Keith Opie 2nd after also beating Andy 13-11 in the deciding game.

Table 5 Brian Ferbrache made up for his brother and finished 1st with Shelby Timms coming second on count back with Ken Falla.  Table 6 Marli Barker came out on top but had two very hard 5 setters against Mick Ingrouille and Brandon Ferbrache along the way.  Brandon finished in second place.  Table 7 Steve Martin was back on form but had to fight hard to beat Connor Powell in the deciding game.  Finishing second was another up and coming junior Oskar Cleal.

Table 8 Mike Brehaut was in fine form but had to play well to beat another of our improving juniors Alex Hutchinson.  It was also lovely to see Vikki Stacey back playing and finished in second place.  Table 9 Jenny Powell finished first but had a strong contender against another junior Aiden Ozanne and managed to beat him in 4 very close games.  Despite that Aiden still managed to finish in second place by beating Tia Timms.  Table 10 Robert Naftel finished first and Cameron Powell finished second again on another count back against a young junior Barny Groves.

Table 11 was an experienced table made up of Rosemary Powell, Brian Le Cras, Lynn Finn and a very young junior Micah Cohen.  A very tough table for young Micah but I am sure he will do much better next week.  Lynn Finn finished first with second place going to Rosemary Powell on count back against Brian Le Cras.  Table 12 was a table of 5 with Seb Jennings finishing top and Rachel Sharp second.  Table 13 was won by Andy Ozanne, Dad of Aiden and in second place was young Ollie Sparks.

Tonight’s winning tables are:

Table 1 Lawrence Stacey. 2 Joe Bourgaize. 3 Nye Matthew. 4 Sean Mosley. 5 Brian Ferbrache.  6 Marli Barker.

7 Steve Martin. 8 Mike Brehaut. 9 Jenny Powell. 10 Robert Naftel. 11 Lynn Finn. 12 Seb Jennings. 13 Andy Ozanne.
