Week 6 - 8th July
Hi everyone,
We had a good turn out again even though it was very hot. We had 56 people, 14 tables of 4. At the present time Morgan Finn is still in first position by one point followed by Sekao Nwako on 43 points and Juliette Yeaman third with 44 points, but we have only just reached the half way point so anything could happen.
Table 1 - Lawrence Stacey, Jamie Ferbrache, Joe Bourgaize and Micah Cohen. Josh proved to be too strong for the rest of his opponents and won all of his games. The closest match was between Micah and Joe with Micah winning 12-10 in the 5th game.
Table 2 – Kay Chivers, Luke Evans, Mark Fallaize and Andy Gill. This was a hard night for Kay with all of her matches going to 5 games. Kay overcame young Luke 13-11 in the 5th game but reckons he will get her the next time they play. Kay also lost to Andy and Mark both 8-11 in the 5th game. Andy won all of his games so finished top with Mark on the same amount as Kay but as he beat her finished second.
Table 3 – Craig Dunning, Kenedy Chepkor, Steve Ozanne and Mark Fenwick. Steve had two very hard matches losing both in the 5th game 11-13 against Mark and 9-11 against Kenedy, despite this he won one more game then Kenedy so finished second.
Table 4 – Ben Foote, Sekao Nwako, Xavier Ingrouille and Andy Ferbrache. Andy had a tough evening with all of his matches going to five games. He beat Xavier 11-8 in the 5th game and Ben 12-10 but lost to Sekao 9-11 also in 5th game. Xavier won his other two matches and finished second.

Table 6 – Mo James, Olivia Gilbert, Maija Hansen and Keira Eldridge. Once again Keira proved just how much she is improving and won all of her games. The closest match was between young Olivia and Maija with Olivia winning 11-7 in the 5th game. But I think we need to keep an eye on Maija, she is very keen and seems to be improving rapidly.
Table 7 - Brian Ferbrache, Ken Falla, Thea Cummins and Juliette Yeaman. The closest match was between the very mature Ken and the very young Thea. Thea played well and with determination managed to beat the very experienced Ken 11-6 in the final game.
Table 8 – Paul Finn, Steve Martin, Peter Vivian and Mark Windsor. Steve Martin finished top but had two very hard matches against Paul and Peter just winning in the final game. Mark also had a tough game against Paul and lost 8-11 in the final game.
Table 9 – Ian Fitchet, Isla Bretel, Morgan Finn and Mike Corbin. Two matches went the full distance. The first was Ian against Isla which he won 11-8 in the 5th game. The other match was Ian again against Mike but Mike won this 11-9 in the 5th game.
Table 10 – Jan Priest, Shane Cotter, Keil Butt and Perran Lomax. Young Perran just lost to the experienced Jan 8-11 in the 5th. The other close match was between Shane and Keil with Keil winning 12-10 in the final game.

Table 3 – Andy Gill, Craig Dunning, Jez Powell and Joe Bourgaize. Three matches went to 5 games between Andy and Craig with Andy winning, then Craig and Joe with Craig just snatching it 13-11 and Andy and Joe with Andy winning. Andre finished top his closest match was against Barney where he won 11-8 in the 5th game. Barney also had a tough match against Steve losing 11-6 in 5th game, unlucky Barney next time. It was a tough table for Albie but he did well to take a game off Andre and also Barney.
Table 5 – Terry Trustum, Ben Foote, Kenedy Chepkor and Ian Le Page. Ben appeared to be playing very well beating Terry 11-9 in the 5th game and Ian 3 straight. Kenedy was just a little too quick for Ben but only just beat him 14-12 in the fourth game.

Watch out Keith they are trying to catch you. Mo and Thea also had a very close match with Mo winning 11-8 in the final game and finishing second.

We had a good turn out again, Keith and myself were surprised to see so many as it was so hot but very pleased. We had 60 so 15 tables of 4.
Table 1 Lawrence Stacey, Mark Fenwick, Steve Ozanne and Phil Harris. It was lovely to see Lawrence taking part and he won all of his games, but did have a very tough one against Steve just winning 12-10 in the 5th game. Phil Harris had a tough time and didn’t win any games but should feel proud to have worked his way up to the top table.
Table 2 – Andy Ferbrache, Kenedy Chepkor, Jamie Ferbrache and Oskar Cleal. Jamie playing well as usual finished first with Andy, Kenedy and Oskar finishing on the same points, but Andy came second on count back.
Table 3 – Keith Opie, Kiera Eldridge, Joe Bourgaize and Micah Cohen. Keith was the weakest link but had some close games, taking one off Micah on deuce. Kiera played very well to beat Joe Bourgaize 17-15 in the 5th game, definitely improving every week. Micah finished first and Kiera and Joe both had the same points but because Keira beat Joe she finished second.
Table 4 – Kay Chivers, Sekao Nwako, Andy Gill and Olivia Gilbert. Kay had some tough games beating Sekao and Andy in 5 games. It was a tough table for Olivia but we could all see how much she had improved with some very nice shots, keep practicing Olivia.
Table 5 – Maija Hansen, Craig Dunning, Ollie Sparks and Xavier Ingrouille. Maija didn’t do so well, it was a table a little too high but had some good games, keep practicing Maija improving all the time. There was a cracking game between Xavier and Ollie with long rallies, eventually Xavier got the best of Ollie in the 5th game, therefore finished in second place with Craig top.
Table 6 – Thea Cummins, Isla Bretel, Terry Trustum and Albie Lihou. Terry and Albie both finished on the same total of points but Albie beat Terry in 4 games so finished top.

Ben also had a 5 games match against Stuart which he lost 10-12 in the final game. Juliette and Ben both finished on 8 points but since Ben beat Juliette he finished first and Juliette second.

Week 1 - 3rd June
Hi Everyone
Welcome once again for the 20th Summer League.
Well, we had such a great turn out for our first week that Keith and myself were overwhelmed. We had 69 players, 11 tables of 4 and 5 tables of 5. We hope that this will continue and that we have a competitive and happy 12 weeks.
There are just a couple of things that we would like to mention with reference to filling in the booklets:-
• Please can you write in your full name as some of you we may not know.
• Please make sure that the scores are filled in correctly and the correct way around, if not this could mean that you loose points. We do check the books to our best ability but sometimes not possible.
• If you don’t know how to fill in the booklet, PLEASE don’t be frightened to ask someone who does, it is in the best interest for everyone.
• When signing in please don’t say your name and walk past, or speak all at once, it isn’t always easy to find your name immediately and we don’t want to miss anyone.
Table tennis is a friendly game from the top players to the lowest and we are all there to help each other and to have fun.
Tonight’s winning tables are:
Table 1 Jamie Ferbrache. 2 Luke Evans. 3 Mark Fenwick. 4 Kay Chivers. 5 Xavier Ingrouille. 6 Kiera Eldridge. 7 Keith Opie. 8 Dale Webb. 9 Olivia Gilbert. 10 Ian Fitchet. 11 Mike Corbin. 12 Keil Butt. 13 Martin Paxton. 14 Noah Finn. 15 Andy Butt. 16 Rory Bienvenu.
Until next week, don’t be late 7.20 pm is the cut off time.
