Week 12 - 26th August
Hi Everyone
Well tonight was our last summer league for 2026. We had a total of 62 players which we thought was very good with the North Show taking place. This meant 13 tables of 4 and 2 tables of 5. It turned out to be a very close finish between, Sekao Nwako, Olivia Gilbert, Nye Matthews, Kennedy Chepkor and Steve Ozanne. With the worst 2 weeks deducted Sekao won with 79 points, Olivia just finished in runner up position with 75 points followed by Nye on 74, Kenedy and Steve both on 73. We would also like to thank Ben for the work that he does, as when we have done our bit, he then puts it all on the website. Also thank you for all and everyone who takes part as that makes it all worthwhile. We will be doing the presentation of the Summer League on Monday 7th September before the St Pauls tournament begins.

Week 11 - 19th August
Hi Everyone,
We had a record of 73 people tonight which is fantastic, it meant 7 tables of 4 and 9 tables of 5. It is still very exciting between Sekao Nwako and Olivia Gilbert as we go into our final week. If you take the worst 2 weeks away Sekao is only one point in front, with Kenedy Chepkor in third place. Just to make everyone aware as I expect not many people read the rules on the back of the booklet. If you play on a table of 3 you play best of 7 games and have a point added. If you play on a table of 4 you play best of 5 games. If you play on a table of 5 you play best of 3 games and have a point added.
Table 1 – Ryan Bichard, Steve Ozanne, Micah Cohen and Barney Groves. A very good match between Ryan and Steve with Steve winning 11-9 in the final game. Steve also had a very good game against Barney but this time lost 8-11 in the final game. Steve also lost to Micah in the final game, but had a very busy night.
Table 2 – Kay Chivers, Avanash Shamloll, Ben Foss and Josh Stacey. Avanash and Kay were both out of their depth on this table both losing to Josh and Ben. However Kay and Avanash had a good match with Kay losing in the 5th game.
Table 3 – Craig Dunning, Brian Ferbrache, Lawrence Stacey and Nye Matthew. This was a hard table for Craig and Brian with Lawrence finishing first and Nye second, but Craig played well to take a game off each of them.
Table 4 – Ben Foote, Keira Eldridge, Jamie Ferbrache and Jez Powell. Jez excelled and won all of his matches. Ben played very well against Jamie and just lost in the final game 9-11.
Table 5 – Keith Opie, Olivia Gilbert, Joe Bourgaize and Sam Clark. This was a strong table for Keith and Olivia who both lost to Joe and Sam. Joe and Sam had a ding-dong match against each other with Sam winning 11-9 in the final game.
Table 6 – Steve Martin, Luke Evans, Andy Gill and Mark Fenwick. This was a very difficult table for Steve who played well to take a game off Mark. Young Luke played very well against Andy and just lost out 9-11 in the final game. Mark finished first and Andy second.
Table 7 – Mo James, John Wills, Connor Powell and Kenedy Chepkor. This was a hard table for Mo and John but Mo must have been playing very well as he beat Connor and finished in second place overall. Not too difficult an evening for Kenedy who finished in first place.
Table 8 – Chris Loveridge, Aaryan Shamloll, Xavier Ingrouille, Terry Trustum and Andy Ferbrache. Terry played very well beating Xavier which meant he finished in second place, Andy finished top.
Table 9 – Ian Fitchet, Noah Finn, Ian Le Page, Brandon Ferbrache and Shaun Mosley. Shaun played very well to beat Brandon, but Brandon won all of his other matches so finished in first place. Ian and Shaun both won the same number of games but Ian beat Shaun therefore finished in second place.
Table 10 - Aaditya Shamloll, Sabato Folmi, Maija Hansen, Stuart Sarre and Sekao Nwako. Sekao won all of his matches with Stuart finishing in second place.
Table 11 – Jake Webb, Juliette Yeaman, Thea Cummins, Richard Welfair and Dale Webb. This was a very hard table for Jake. His Dad Dale won all of his matches so finished in first place. Thea played very well but lost to Dale therefore finished in second place by one game.
Table 12 – Peter Vivian, Isla Bretel, Jan Priest, Shane Cotter and Paul Finn. Five of the ten matches went the full distance, with Jan losing out twice in the final game 10-12 to Peter and Paul, but Jan still managed to finish in second place with Pete finishing first.
Table 13 – Andres Lyashko, Simon Carter, Tom de la Rue, Mike Corbin and Morgan Finn. Another table where 6 of the 10 matches went the full distance. Mike had a fight on against Morgan but managed to win 12-10 in the final game. It was the same with Andres and Tom with Tom winning 12-10 in the final game. Tom and Mike both finished on the same amount of points but Tom beat Mike so finished first and Mike second.
Table 14 – Rosemary Powell, Lynn Finn, Andy Ingrouille, Ruth Vaudin and Sandra Sebire. One match that stood out was between Sandra and Andy with Sandra winning 19-17 in the final game. Lynn won all of her matches so finished first with Ruth in second place.

Table 1 - Nye Matthew, Ryan Bichard, Jamie Ferbrache and Matt Casey. Week 9 - 5th August
Hi Everyone
Tonight we had a record attendance of 72 players so we had to have 8 tables of 4 and 8 tables of 5. Sekao Nwako is still in first place with 64 points, Olivia now moved into second place with 61 points, just one point ahead of Jacqui Wheatley who has 60 points joint with Paul Finn on 60 points; therefore anything could happen with 3 weeks left to play. Just a reminder to everyone that after 12 weeks your worst 2 weeks are deleted, so if you have had a holiday you still have a chance of doing well. Don’t forget the eclipse next wednesday at about 7.12 pm which I am sure a lot of us will want to see.
Table 1 - Kay Chivers, Josh Stacey, Kenedy Chepkor and Nye Matthew. This was not a good night for Kay as she lost all of her matches and is grateful that Kenedy is moving up into the first division. Nye had a fantastic evening winning all of his matches and an excellent match against Josh winning 11-8 in the final game. Nye has now been nicknamed Octopus as he reaches for everything.
Table 2 – Andy Gill, Craig Dunning, Lawrence Stacey and Ryan Bichard. Craig had a good win against Andy. Craig also won a game against Lawrence, not sure what happened there!!! The closest match was Ryan against Lawrence with Ryan winning 11-9 in the 5th game.

Jez beat Andy 12-10 in the final game which was a very good effort on Andy’s part. Jez beat Sekao 11-9 in the final game which was also a very good effort from Sekao, definitely someone we need to keep an eye on.
Table 4 – Xavier Ingrouille, Ben Foote, Mark Fenwick and Martin Sarre. Mark finished first and a very good result for Xavier finishing second by beating Ben and Martin.
Table 5 – Juliette Yeaman, Olivia Gilbert, Gary Willcocks and Avenash Shamloll. Avenash played very well winning all of his matches. Young Olivia had a tough game against Juliette but won 11-9 in the final game. At the present time Morgan Finn is still in first position by one point followed by Sekao Nwako on 43 points and Juliette Yeaman third with 44 points, but we have only just reached the half way point so anything could happen.
Table 1 - Lawrence Stacey, Jamie Ferbrache, Joe Bourgaize and Micah Cohen. Josh proved to be too strong for the rest of his opponents and won all of his games. The closest match was between Micah and Joe with Micah winning 12-10 in the 5th game.
Table 2 – Kay Chivers, Luke Evans, Mark Fallaize and Andy Gill. This was a hard night for Kay with all of her matches going to 5 games. Kay overcame young Luke 13-11 in the 5th game but reckons he will get her the next time they play. Kay also lost to Andy and Mark both 8-11 in the 5th game. Andy won all of his games so finished top with Mark on the same amount as Kay but as he beat her finished second.
Table 3 – Craig Dunning, Kenedy Chepkor, Steve Ozanne and Mark Fenwick. Steve had two very hard matches losing both in the 5th game 11-13 against Mark and 9-11 against Kenedy, despite this he won one more game then Kenedy so finished second.
Table 4 – Ben Foote, Sekao Nwako, Xavier Ingrouille and Andy Ferbrache. Andy had a tough evening with all of his matches going to five games. He beat Xavier 11-8 in the 5th game and Ben 12-10 but lost to Sekao 9-11 also in 5th game. Xavier won his other two matches and finished second.

The closest match was between young Olivia and Maija with Olivia winning 11-7 in the 5th game. But I think we need to keep an eye on Maija, she is very keen and seems to be improving rapidly.

It was lovely to see Lawrence taking part and he won all of his games, but did have a very tough one against Steve just winning 12-10 in the 5th game. Phil Harris had a tough time and didn’t win any games but should feel proud to have worked his way up to the top table.

Maija didn’t do so well, it was a table a little too high but had some good games, keep practicing Maija improving all the time. Week 1 - 3rd June
Hi Everyone
Welcome once again for the 20th Summer League.
Well, we had such a great turn out for our first week that Keith and myself were overwhelmed. We had 69 players, 11 tables of 4 and 5 tables of 5. We hope that this will continue and that we have a competitive and happy 12 weeks.
There are just a couple of things that we would like to mention with reference to filling in the booklets:-
• Please can you write in your full name as some of you we may not know.
• Please make sure that the scores are filled in correctly and the correct way around, if not this could mean that you loose points. We do check the books to our best ability but sometimes not possible.
• If you don’t know how to fill in the booklet, PLEASE don’t be frightened to ask someone who does, it is in the best interest for everyone.
• When signing in please don’t say your name and walk past, or speak all at once, it isn’t always easy to find your name immediately and we don’t want to miss anyone.
Table tennis is a friendly game from the top players to the lowest and we are all there to help each other and to have fun.
Tonight’s winning tables are:
Table 1 Jamie Ferbrache. 2 Luke Evans. 3 Mark Fenwick. 4 Kay Chivers. 5 Xavier Ingrouille. 6 Kiera Eldridge. 7 Keith Opie. 8 Dale Webb. 9 Olivia Gilbert. 10 Ian Fitchet. 11 Mike Corbin. 12 Keil Butt. 13 Martin Paxton. 14 Noah Finn. 15 Andy Butt. 16 Rory Bienvenu.
