COVID-19 Updates

Update 20th June
Following Guernsey's move to Phase 5 of the States of Guernsey Exit Framework, table tennis activities will be recommencing as normal from Monday 22nd June. We have reverted the centre back to 12 match tables and is now no need for social distancing or to book a table for practice. Hand sanitisers will still be available for players/visitors to use should they wish.
The Management Committee convened on Friday and made the following decisions regarding the 2019/20 season:
Due to the challenges caused by COVID-19, the senior league season 2019/20 has ended with immediate effect. The leagues have had a 'points per game' system applied to determine final league placings, although this did not in fact alter any teams' position. Final league tables and averages will be confirmed shortly and the presentation of awards will take place at a later date.
Summer League will now run as in previous years on Wednesday evenings, commencing on 1st July
Junior coaching will resume in September, but over the summer, existing junior players of all standards are welcome to attend an informal session on Monday evenings 17-45 - 18:45. Further details on this will be communicated soon.
The Island Championships and other tournaments postponed will be rearranged for the new season, scheduled to commence in September (dates to be advised).
The GTTA AGM will take place as planned on Monday 13th July

Update 29th May
The GTTA has obtained permission from the States of Guernsey to re-open the centre from 1st June for the purposes of playing table tennis provided that social distancing and hygiene protocols are maintained. The Centre will be open for practice only and a decision on leagues, tournaments and training will be made at a later date.
The new rules and guidelines for the use of the Centre are below:
Update 17th May
The GTTA are following health authority recommendations around COVID-19, and as such all table tennis activities have been suspended until further notice.
These include:
- Junior coaching
- Senior & Social Leagues
- All tournaments
- Island Championships & Inter Insulars
- Committee meetings
The management committee of the GTTA are working with the Guernsey Sports Commission and relevant health authorities to plan a return to table tennis over the coming weeks and months when we are permitted to do so and with the required social distancing measures in force.
