Super Veteran's Open Singles

The event which is open to players over the age of 50 led to the top seeds again making the final, the pair in question being Mark Pipet and Phil Hunkin.

Pipet was pushed very hard by Trevor Bourgaize who was playing some exceptional table tennis on the evening. The 2nd division player had earlier overturned a 3-1 deficit to defeat St Pauls team mate Maurice James in 7 and he followed that up with a 6 game win over Tim Le Page from 2-0 down. He gave another good account of himself against Pipet, extending the multiple time Island Champion to 6 games.

Hunkin squared off against Neil Hastie in the other semi final and let a slip a 2-0 advantage, when matters were tied at 2-2. He kept his cool and improved his consistency to win in 6.

Under 11 Open Singles

Top seed Luke Bichard will play against 3rd seed Ellis Tomlin in the final.

Bichard reached the semi finals with ease, however he dropped a leg there to 4th seed Daniel Collenette, who played some nice table tennis during the day.

Tomlin defeated Erin De Carteret in a 5 game Quarter before getting the better of 2nd seed James Le Tissier in a straight game semi final win.

Under 13 Open Singles

The top seeded pairing of Jack Ives and Ben Foss both navigated the draw to reach the final.

Ives made light work of his opposition throughout the draw and impressively defeated Luke Bichard in a straight game semi final encounter.

Foss was also comfortable in making the semi finals, however he was given a real test there by 4th seed Ryan Bichard. Bichard made an excellent start which resulted in a 2-0 lead. The score was tied at 9-9 in the following game as Bichard's consistent table tennis was frustrating the 2nd seed. Foss steadied the ship and clinched the 3rd 11-9. This seemed to take some pressure off and he started to play some more fluent table tennis, resulting in a 6 game triumph.

Under 15 Boy's Singles

The top seeds again made their to the final, this time in the form of Sam King and Jack Ives.

King had a tough semi final clash with Foss, however his extra experience and ability pulled him through in 6.

Ives had a much tougher semi final when he came up against Ryan Bichard. Bichard held a 6-1 lead in the decisive 7th end and looked good to make the final before the Ridunian dug very deep to pinch it 11-9 and reach his 2nd final.

Under 15 Girl's Singles

Top seeded Chloe Le Tissier will play 2nd seeded Cleo Rosumek in the final.

Le Tissier had a tough encounter against Charlotte Casey in the semi finals and despite winning 4-1, the first 3 ends were won in deuce by the top seed.

Rosumek had a much easier semi final as she cruised to victory over Alderney's Marli Barker

Over 70's Open Singles

2nd seeded Ian Fitchet (pictured) will play against unseeded Ken Falla, who will be making his Island Championship final debut.

Fitchet defeated Len Bretel in a 5 game semi final.

Falla upset the odds when he defeated top seed Peter Powell in straight games.
