Week 12 - 30th August
Hi Everyone
Tonight we had 8 tables of 4 and 2 tables of 5 making a total of 42 players.
Well what an exciting finish to the Summer League right up until the last few games. Keith and I would like to congratulate Nye Matthew on being the winner with 78 points with Aiden Ozanne and Alex Hutchinson joint runners up with 73 points each. We would also like to thank Ben Foote for putting all the results and reports on the internet each week. Also to all of you for your support and coming a long each week enjoying the game we love to play.
On table 1 – We had Sam Clark, Paul Hainsworth, Jez Powell and Josh Stacey. 4 of the 6 matches went the full distance. Paul beat Sam 12-10 in the 5th game. Josh beat Jez 11-7 in the 5th game. Jez beat Sam 11-9 in the 5th game and Josh beat Paul 13-11 in the final game so some very competitive matches. Table 2 – Nye Matthew proved himself a worthy winner beating Craig Dunning, Jamie Ferbrache and Joe Bourgaize. Nye had a hard match against Joe beating him in the 5th game 11-8. Craig also played very well against Joe but lost it in the 5th game. Jamie also fought hard against Joe but lost in the final game which meant that Joe finished second.
Table 3 – Andy Gill won this table beating Shaun Mosley, Steve Ozanne and Gary Willcocks. This was always going to be difficult for Gary and Shaun against two first division players. All games were 3 straight but Shaun did push Gary in their last 2 games losing 12-14 and 11-13. Table 4 – We had Keith Opie, Mo James, Brian Ferbrache and Ben Foote. All I can say is Ben must have been playing extremely well as he won all of his games with Keith finishing in second place.
Table 5 – This table was interesting as we had Aiden Ozanne who was in contention as a possible winner against Terry Trustum, Brandon Ferbrache and Shane Cotter. Aiden lost his first match to Terry 3 straight, but his next game against Shane he won 3-1 which gave him 3 points. The last match on the table was Aiden against second division player Brandon. This game was very important to Aiden and he managed to beat Brandon 11-8 in the 5th game after losing the 4th 15-17, giving him a total of 6 points. Table 6 – Juliette Yeaman had a very good evening beating Ian Fitchet, Ken Falla and Ollie Sparks. Ollie played well to beat Fitch 11-4 in the final game, but Ken and Juliette were too strong for him therefore Ken finished second.
Table 7 – This table was also interesting as we had Alex Hutchinson who was also in contention as a possible winner against Shaun Evans, Steve Martin and Mick Ingrouille. Alex won his first match against Shaun 3 straight which gave him 3 points. His next match against Steve was very exciting with some very good attacking shots and nice loops. Steve finally beat Alex 3-1 but that 1 point added to his 3 was enough for him to finish joint runner up. Steve played very well winning all of his matches with Mick finishing second. Table 8 – We had Mark Windsor, Derek Carter, Robert Naftel and Albie Lihou. There were some tough games with Albie just beating Robert 13-11 in the 5th game. Mark Windsor also beat Robert 11-6 in the 5th game and Derek finally beat Robert in 4th game, it was not Roberts evening but he played some good table tennis. Mark and Albie also had a tough game with Mark winning 12-10 in the 5th. Therefore Mark finished first and Derek second.
Table 9 – This was a table of 5, Barney Groves, Henri Whitehorne, Micah Cohen, Frank Coppolo and Ella Le Ber. Barney won all of his games his hardest was against Henri and Micah with Henri finishing second. Table 10 Also a table of 5, Sabato Folmi, Matt Hale, Isla Bretel, Connor Osborne and Olivia Gilbert. There were some very good games with Sabato finishing first and Isla second.
Tonight’s winning tables are:
Table 1 Josh Stacey. 2 Nye Matthew. 3 Andy Gill. 4 Ben Foote. 5 Brandon Ferbrache. 6 Juliette Yeaman.
7 Steve Martin .8 Mark Windsor. 9 Barney Groves. 10 Sabato Folmi.
We hope everyone has had a good time and we hope to see you all again next summer. Good luck in this coming season and the league starts next week.
A la perchoine. Never give up!!

Week 11 - 23rd August
Hi Everyone
Tonight we had 7 tables of 4 and 2 tables of 5 making a total of 38 players. I think this week we had fewer players because of the North Show but still an excellent turn out with only 1 week left.
It is now getting extremely exciting. I really wouldn’t like to predict but I think it will be between Nye Matthew, Craig Dunning, Aiden Ozanne and Alex Hutchinson. Tonight Nye and Aiden finished with 9 points and Craig and Alex 7 points. We are hoping to be able to do the presentation on the night, if so we hope you will wait to find out the outcome, if it is too difficult we will do the presentation on Monday 4th September.
On table 1 – Sam Clark played extremely well beating Lawrence Stacey, Andy Gill and Joe Bourgaize. Sam beat Lawrence 12-10 in the final game. Joe Bourgaize 11-8 in the final game and Andy Gill in 4. Andy and Joe also had a battle with Joe winning 11-8 in the final game. Table 2 – A difficult table for Terry Trustum with 3 first division players, Paul Hainsworth, Liam Robilliard and Jez Powell. Liam took Paul to 5 games but lost in the final one. Liam and Jez had a hard match and Jez just clawed it winning 11-9 in the 5th. Sadly Terry didn’t win any but played well. So Paul finished first and because Jez beat Liam he came second.
Table 3 – Ben Sharp won this table beating Keith Opie, Steve Martin and Craig Dunning. Not a good evening for Keith or Steve and Ben killed off Craig in the 4th game. Table 4 – A very good evening for Nye Matthew as he beat Ben Foote, Charlotte Casey and Andy Ferbrache. Nye won all of his matches 3 straight. Ben fought hard against Andy and Charlotte but lost both in the 5th game. Andy beat Charlotte therefore finishing in second place.
Table 5 – Shaun Mosley won this table against Rachel Sharp, Shane Cotter and Maurice James. Maurice finished in second place and Rachel played very well to finish 3rd beating Shane 11-8 in the final game. Table 6 – Peter Vivian had a very good evening against Henri Whitehorne, Brandon Ferbrache and Juliette Yeaman. But Pete had to work hard beating Henri in the 5th game. He lost to Brandon in the final game but beat Juliette 10-12, 12-10, 11-9, 11-9 so another close game. Brandon finished second as he only lost 1 match to Juliette but this also went to 4 with close results.
Table 7 – Young Aiden Ozanne won his table against Ian Fitchet, Derek Carter and Cheryl Wingrave. Derek and Fitch finished on the same amount of points but because Fitch beat Derek 11-9 in the final game it meant he came second. Table 8 – This was a table of 5, Ollie Sparkes finished top against Isla Bretel, Micah Cohen, Alex Hutchinson and Ella Le Ber. Ollie’s hardest match was against Micah as he just beat him 11-8 in the final game. Alex finished second as he lost to Ollie.
Table 9 – This was a table of five, Sabato Folmi, Olivia Gilbert, Ruth Vaudin, Shaun Evans and Connor Osborne. Shaun won all of his games his hardest was against Ruth who finished second.
Tonight’s winning tables are:
Table 1 Sam Clark. 2 Paul Hainsworth. 3 Ben Sharp. 4 Nye Matthew. 5 Shaun Mosley. 6 Peter Vivian. 7 Aiden Ozanne . 8 Ollie Sparkes. 9 Shaun Evans.
We hope everyone will make a big effort to come and play next week in the last week of the Summer League. Until next week don’t be late 7.25 pm is the cut off time.
Never give up!!

Week 10 - 16th August
Hi Everyone
Tonight we had 8 tables of 4 and 2 tables of 5 making a total of 42 players.
I think we had less players due to the beautiful weather, the West Show plus we have about 10 youngsters at a training camp in Worthing. We have Craig Dunning top with 65 points, Nye Matthew on 64 points, Alex Hutchinson 63 points and Aiden Ozanne 62 points, the next 2 weeks should be exciting.
On table 1 – Josh Stacey remained on form with 8 points but Ben Sharp was second with 6 points as he beat Josh 12-10 in the final game and also Craig Dunning 13-11 in the final game. Craig and Lawrence Stacey both finished with 5 points each but Craig beat Lawrence so finished in 3rd place. Table 2 – Sam Clark was playing well to finish top against Andy Gill, Andy Ferbrache and Shaun Mosley but only just beat Andy 13-11 in the final game.
Table 3 – On this table we had Joe Bourgaize, Nye Matthew, Terry Trustum and Erin Vaudin. A strong table for Erin but she had a close game with Nye and Terry. Joe proved himself too strong against the others and finished top. Terry, however had a very good match against Nye and won in the 4th game. Table 4 - Peter Vivian, Gary Willcocks, Charlotte Casey and Steve Martin. Gary lost to Charlotte 9-11 in the final game but finished top, I guess the new bat is working. Steve Martin came second.
Table 5 – Keith Opie finished top beating Brian Ferbrache, Ian Fitchet and Juliette Yeaman without dropping a game. Brian had two very hard games against Juliette and Fitch but finally came through in the final games 11-4 against Juliette and 11-6 against Fitch. Table 6 – Ben Foote finished top but lost a game 10-12 against Derek Carter which was a good result for Derek. Ken Falla finished second beating both Derek and Mick Ingrouille.
Table 7 – On this table we had Alex Hutchinson, Rosemary Powell, Rachel Sharp and Frank Coppolo. Rachel played well as she beat Alex, Rosemary and Frank to finish top. Alex and Rosemary both finished on 6 points but as Rosemary beat Alex she finished second. Table 8 – Cheryl Wingrave, Tia Timms, Henri Whitehorne and Micah Cohen. Henri played well winning all of his matches and Cheryl came second. Micah managed to beat Tia 11-9 in the final game so finished 3rd.
Table 9 – This was a table of 5, Sabato Folmi, Marc Cohen, Helen Barker, Shaun Evans and Ruth Vaudin. Helen finished top winning all of her games the hardest being against Ruth. Marc Cohen finished 2nd only losing to Helen so was very pleased as only his second time in the summer league, hopefully see you next week Marc. Table 10 – Also a table of 5, Matt Hale, Noah Nicolle, Isla Bretel, Connor Osborne and Olivia Gilbert. Isla and Olivia both finished with 8 points but as Isla beat Olivia she finished first and Olivia second. Noah finished 3rd with 7 points, so it was very close with those 3 players.
Tonight’s winning tables are:
Table 1 Josh Stacey. 2 Sam Clark. 3 Joe Bourgaize. 4 Gary Willcocks. 5 Keith Opie. 6 Ben Foote. 7 Rachel Sharp.
8 Henri Whitehorne. 9 Helen Barker. 10 Isla Bretel.
Until next week don’t be late 7.25 pm is the cut off time.
Never give up!!

Week 9 - 9th August
Hi Everyone
Tonight we had 10 tables of 4 and 3 tables of 5 making a total of 55 players. What a great turnout, the most players we have had this summer, I guess the new season is approaching quickly. Getting very exciting now with only 3 weeks left. We have Aiden top with 62 points, Craig Dunning on 60 points, Nye Matthew 59 points and Alex Hutchinson 57 points, the next 3 weeks will be crucial.
On table 1 – Josh Stacey was on form again with Craig Dunning finishing second as he beat Steve Ozanne 11-8 in the final game. Rumour tells that Craig doesn’t have cacky rubber it’s just the way he plays!!!! Table 2 – Lawrence Stacey also in good form with Liam Robilliard finishing second as they both beat Charlotte Casey and Andy Ferbrache.
Table 3 – On this table we had Jez Powell, Mo James, Shaun Moseley and Sam Clark. A very strong table for both Mo and Shaun with Jez and Sam finishing first and second. Table 4 Terry Trustum, Brandon Ferbrache, Joe Bourgaize and Andy Gill. Also a strong table for Terry and Brandon but they both took Andy to four games. Andy finished top as he beat Joe in the final game after coming back from two games down.
Table 5 – Another table of first and second division players as Nye Matthew and Shelby Timms are both playing first next season and they had with them Steve Martin and Peter Vivian two second division players. Nye and Shelby proved themselves by finishing 1st and 2nd with Nye just edging Shelby 11-9 in the final game. Table 6 – This was a nice mixed table of Juliette Yeaman, Aiden Ozanne, Gary Willcocks and Brian Ferbrache. With Gary and Brian finishing first and second, Juliette and Aiden both finished with 5 points but Ju beat Aiden so finished above him.
Table 7 – On this table we had Keith Opie, Ian Fitchet, Albie Lihou and Ben Foote. This was a strong table for young Albie but he did well to take a game off Ben. Keith finished top with Ben second as he beat him 12 -10 in the final game. Table 8 – Ken Falla, Alex Hutchinson, Mick Ingrouille and Mark Windsor. The experience of Ken shone through, but his toughest game was against Mark who only lost 7-11 in the final game. Young Alex beat Mark in the final game which left him in second place.
Table 9 – This was Ollie Sparks, Jenny Powell, Derek Cave and Vicki Stacey. It was lovely to see Vicki back after having a baby. Jenny finished on top but her hardest match was against Ollie where she lost one game 19-21 but came back in the fourth to win 11-8. Derek and Vicki both finished with 3 points but Derek beat Vicki so finished above her. Table 10 – Andy Ozanne, Robert Naftel, Shaun Evans and Noah Nicolle. This was a hard table for both Noah and Shaun. Andy finished in first place after beating Robert 11-8 in the final game.
Table 11 – On this table we had Tia Timms, Isla Bretel, Helen Barker, Barney Groves and Rosemary Powell. Tia finished first with Barney second. But it wasn’t easy for Barney as he only just beat Rosemary 13-11 and 12-10 which then put her in 3rd place. Table 12 – We had Henri Whitehorne, Micah Cohen, Alex Cleal, Frank Coppolo and Marc Cohen. Henri finished first with Frank finishing second after beating Micah 11-9 in the final game. Table 13 – Ella Le Ber, Sabato Folmi, Matt Hale, Connor Osborne and Olivia Gilbert. Ella finished 1st with Matt 2nd.
Tonight’s winning tables are:
Table 1 Josh Stacey. 2 Lawrence Stacey. 3 Jez Powell. 4 Andy Gill. 5 Nye Matthew. 6 Gary Willcocks. 7 Keith Opie.
8 Ken Falls. 9 Jenny Powell. 10 Andy Ozanne. 11 Tia Timms. 12 Henri Whitehorne. 13 Ella Le Ber.
Until next week don’t be late 7.25 pm is the cut off time.
Never give up!!

Week 8 - 2nd August
Hi Everyone
Tonight we had 12 tables of 4 and 1 table of 3 making a total of 51 players. What a fantastic turnout again and many different players from the previous week. Only 4 weeks left and the points table is becoming exciting, but who will win!!!!!
On table 1 – Josh Stacey was on form wining all of his games with Jamie Ferbrache finishing second. Table 2 – There were two very good games the first being Matthew Casey against Steve Ozanne with Matthew wining 11-9 in the final game. The other surprise was Shelby Timms up against Andy Gill with Shelby winning 11-9 in the final game, well done Shelby.
Table 3 – On this table we had Craig Dunning, Andy Ferbrache, Gary Willcocks and Brian Ferbrache, just want to say welcome back to Brian who has been unable to play until now. A lot of players still seem to be struggling with Craig's cacky rubber and he was unbeatable. The closest was Gary who lost 7-11 in the final game. Table 4 – Charlotte Casey, Keith Opie, Ben Foote and Shaun Mosley, this match went on forever with 26 games played. Keith beat Charlotte in 5 games, but Charlotte beat Ben in 5 games and Shaun beat Keith in 5 games so after a very close contest it was Charlotte and Shaun who finished up first and second.
Table 5 – We had Terry Trustum, Erin Vaudin, Shane Cotter and Mo James with Mo finishing first and Terry second. Table 6 – On this table we had a mixture of young and old with Oskar Cleal, Brandon Ferbrache, Steve Martin and Derek Carter. All the matches except for one were won three straight. Oskar took Brandon to four games but the experienced Brandon was in control and finished top with Steve Martin second.
Table 7 – This table consisted of Peter Vivian, Juliette Yeaman, Derek Cave and Andy Ozanne. A little bird told me that Pete should buy a lottery ticket with all his nets and edges. I must confess I watched him for 5 mins and he had at least 4. Like Len Bretel use to say it’s a game of nets and edges, well done Pete finishing first with Juliette second. Table 8 – Was Ian Fitchet, Tia Timms, Aiden Ozanne and Rosemary Powell. It was nice to see Tia back playing in the summer league. Aiden finished first with Fitch in second place. I watched a nice open game with Aiden against Rosemary but it was Aiden who had the edge.
Table 9 – This was Albie Lihou, Micah Cohen, Richard Wellfair and Frank Coppolo. Albie finished first and Richard second, but Albie had to fight for his place only beating Richard 11-9 in the final game. Table 10 – Little Alex Hutchinson won this table with Ollie Sparks finishing second. On this table we had two new players who came along, Theo and Alex we hope you had a good time and will come again.
Table 11 – On this table we had Noah Nicolle, Leonardo Guariento, Sabato Folmi and Claudiu who came along with Theo and Alex. Leonardo finished first and Noah second. There were two very good matches one was Claudiu against Sabato with Claudiu winning 12-10 in the final game. The other was Noah against Sabato with Noah winning 11-7 in the final game, an unlucky night for Sabato. Table 12 – We had Connor Osborne, Shaun Evans, Ruth Vaudin and Matt Hale. Shaun finished first with Ruth second as he beat Ruth 11-6 in the final game.
Table 13 – Consisted of 3 players, Isla Bretel, Olivia Gilbert, Megan Robinson and they all played best of 7 games. Isla came first with Megan second as Isla beat Megan 11-9 in the final game.
Tonight’s winning tables are:
Table 1 Josh Stacey. 2 Matt Casey. 3 Craig Dunning. 4 Charlotte Casey. 5 Maurice James. 6 Brandon Ferbrache.
7 Peter Vivian. 8 Aiden Ozanne. 9 Albie Lihou. 10 Alex Huttchinson. 11 Leonardo Guariento. 12 Shaun Evans. 13 Isla Bretel.
Until next week don’t be late 7.25 pm is the cut off time.
Never give up!!

Week 7 - 26th July
Tonight we had 13 tables of 4 making a total of 52 players. Well we certainly made up in numbers this week and had quite a few different players.
On table 1 – Jez Powell was in fine form once again, Nye Matthew finished on 6 points and both Joe Bourgaize and Steve Ozanne on 5 points so it was a tight table. Table 2 – This was a hard table for Shelby Timms and Ben Foote as they were up against Josh Stacey and Liam Robilliard. Josh and Liam both finished first and second but Shelby did well to take a game off Liam and only lost on deuce in the fourth and also beat Ben.
Table 3 – This was also a mixed bag with Gary Willcocks and Keith Opie, Matt Casey and Jamie Ferbrache, second division against first. The first division players came through but Matt only beat Keith in the final game. Table 4 – Oskar Cleal, Ben Sharp, Caden Brouard and Craig Dunning. Ben Sharp finished first as would be expected as a very good first division player but young Oskar took the first game 12-10, proving that he is ready for second division table tennis and surely one to watch. Craig also made it hard for Ben but we will put that down to his cacky bat!!!!! Oskar also lost to Caden only deuce in the final game, so look out, Oskar is coming.
Table 5 – This was a tough table for Aiden Ozanne and Derek Carter, with Andy Ferbrache and Charlotte Casey finishing first and second. But Aiden did well to beat the experienced and consistent Derek and also took a game off Andy Ferbrache. Table 6 – On this table James Crocker was on fine form winning all of his matches. Terry Trustum and Shaun Mosley finished 2nd and 3rd after Terry beat Shaun in the final game, all a little too strong for Robert Naftel.
Table 7 – Erin Vaudin and Ken Falla finished 1st and 2nd with Richard Wellfair and Shane Cotter both finishing on 4 points but as Richard beat Shane then he finished 3rd. Table 8 – Was Mo James, Isla Bretel, Peter Vivian and Brandon Ferbrache. Brandon finished first with Pete in 2nd place. Little Isla was out of her depth, as the week before she won on table 10 and went up to table 8 but as we had 13 tables this week she found herself amongst much more experienced players. But she took it all in her stride and didn’t let it phase her and even took a game off Pete so well done Isla.
Table 9 – This was Juliette Yeaman, Ruth Vaudin, Ian Fitchet and Brian Le Cras. Lovely to see Juliette fit again and playing summer league; she finished first with Fitch second. Table 10 – On this table we had Andy Ozanne, Mike Brehaut, Albie Lihou and Barney Groves. Andy, Albie and Barney all finished on 8 points so then we had to work out positions on count back which meant 1st was Barney, 2nd Albie and Andy 3rd.
Table 11- This was a mixture of Ollie Sparks, Rachel Sharp, Helen Barker and Rosemary Powell. Rachel Sharp finished 1st with Ollie second but Rachel had a hard game against Rosemary only beating her in the final game. Table 12 – Alex Hutchinson played well to win all of his matches against Alex Cleal, Leonardo Guariento and Shaun Evans.
Table 13 – Consisted of Matt Hale, Noah Nicolle, Connor Osborne and Olivia Gilbert. Noah finished 1st and Connor 2nd, but Connor had a hard game against Matt beating him in the final game.
Tonight’s winning tables are:
Table 1 Jez Powell. 2 Josh Stacey. 3 Jamie Ferbrache. 4 Ben Sharp. 5 Andy Ferbrache. 6 James Crocker. 7 Erin Vaudin.
8 Brandon Ferbrache. 9 Juliette Yeaman. 10 Barney Groves. 11 Rachel Sharp. 12 Alex Hutchinson. 13 Noah Nicolle.
Until next week don’t be late 7.25 pm is the cut off time.
Never give up!!

Week 6 - 19th July
Hi Everyone
Tonight we had 10 tables of 4 making a total of 40 players.
Not quite as many as usual but I guess after such a wonderful, enthusiastic and successful busy Island Games week it was to be expected. We are already half way through and positions are getting very interesting. We have top player Nye Matthew on 44 points joined by young Aiden Ozanne. Very close behind we have Shelby Timms, Craig Dunning and Jez Powell.
On table 1 – Jez Powell ruled winning all of his games. Jamie Ferbrache came second but had to work hard for that place by beating Ben Sharp 11-9 in the final game. Table 2 – Nye Matthew finished on top and had an excellent game against Caden Brouard beating him 11-8 in the final game. Joe Bourgaize finished in second place although Craig Dunning had the same amount of points Joe managed to beat him in the final game.
Table 3 – Steve Ozanne proved too much for the rest of his opponents, Shelby Timms, Andy Ferbrache and James Crocker winning all of his games. Shelby did very well beating Andy 11-9 in the final game to put her in second place. Table 4 – Ben Foote did very well winning all of his games, I think still on a high from his Island Games week doing a brilliant job as assistant referee. Bens’ hardest game was against Connor Powell finally winning 11-7 in the final game. He also beat Gary Willcocks and Mo James. Gary finished in second place.
Table 5 – This was a table of very experienced players with a young one being Oskar Cleal. Keith Opie finished in top position. Terry Trustum and Steve Martin had a ding dong match with Terry being the winner 11-9 in the final game. Oskar played very well to beat Terry and Steve which put him in second place. Against Keith it was a little different although 2 of his games he only lost 11-13 and 12-14, so everyone look out for Oskar, definitely on a mission.
Table 6 – On this table we had Shane Cotter, Cameron Powell, Ian Fitchet and Derek Carter. Cameron and Derek both finished on 8 points but Cameron beat Derek 12-10 in the final game which put him in top spot with Derek second. Table 7 – We had Mark Windsor, Aiden Ozanne, Derek Cave and Robert Naftel. Aiden is another young player that we will need to watch. All the games went to 4 except one with Aiden finishing first and Robert second.
Table 8 – On this table we had Rosemary Powell, Richard Wellfair, Alex Cleal and Hollie Jenkins. Hollie finished top after having a very close game against Richard beating him 11-9 in the final game putting him in second place. Alex also had a very good game against Hollie but lost 5-11 in the final game.
Table 9 – This was a young table with Micah Cohen, Ella Le Ber, Sian Craig and Sabato Folmi. Micah finished first with 9 points and Sian second with 6 points. Table 10 – Little Isla Bretel finished first beating Ruth Vaudin, Matt Hale and Connor Osborne. Ruth finished second.
Tonight’s winning tables are:
Table 1 Jez Powell. 2 Nye Matthew. 3 Steve Ozanne. 4 Ben Foote. 5 Keith Opie. 6 Cameron Powell.
7 Aiden Ozanne. 8 Hollie Jenkins. 9 Micha Cohen. 10 Isla Bretel.
Until next week don’t be late 7.25 pm is the cut off time.
Never give up!!

Week 5 - 5th July
Hi Everyone
Tonight we had 9 tables of 4 and 2 tables of 5 making a total of 46 players. We think this was an excellent turnout, especially as we had moved to Monday instead of Wednesday and also the Le Viaer Marchi was on at Saumarez Park.
On table 1 – Lawrence Stacey performed well again with Jez Powell not far behind. Jamie Ferbrache and Sam Clark had a battle but Jamie finally came through 11-8 in the final game. Table 2 – Ben Foss won this table with Alice Edwards close behind. Ben Sharp and Andy Gill had a very good game against each other with Ben narrowly beating Andy 11-9 in the final game.
Table 3 – Josh Stacey finished top with 9 points followed by Dawn Morgan with 7 points. Young Barney Groves found the challenge of table 3 difficult and didn’t win any games but a good performance and experience for such a young player. Joseph Bourgaize was the other player contesting. Table 4 – We had Craig Dunning finishing top taking out Steve Ozanne, Andy Ferbrache and Nye Matthew. His hardest game was against Nye just winning 11-9 in the final game. I am sure it must be his cacky bat doing the damage!!!
Table 5 – We had Gary Willcocks, Henri Whitehorne, Shelby Timms and Charlotte Casey. Henri did well to beat Charlotte 11-8 in the final game. Shelby beat Gary and Charlotte in the final game putting her top with Gary in second place. Table 6 – This was an evened out table of Keith Opie, Steve Martin, Ben Foote and Shaun Mosley. 3 matches went to 5 games but Ben finished top with 8 points, Keith and Shaun both had 6 points but Keith beat Shaun which put him in second place and Steve finished on 5 points, so all very tight.
Table 7 – Consisted of Terry Trustum, Ian Fitchet, Shane Cotter and Mo James. The closest game was between Terry and Mo with Mo winning 11-9 in the final game. Despite this Terry finished first with Shane above Mo by 1 point. Table 8 – We had Derek Carter, Mark Windsor, Albie Lihou and Nathan Pinchemain. Albie and Nathan had a hard 5 setter with Albie winning 11-7. Albie and Mark also had a 5 setter with Mark winning 12-10 in the final game, but not quite enough and Albie finished on 8 points, Mark on 7 points.
Table 9 – Aiden Ozanne finished first beating Rosemary Powell, Rachel Sharp and Seb Jennings. Table 10 – This was a table of 5 where young Alex Hutchinson finished top with young Micah Cohen in second place. Table 11 – Also a table of 5 with Ella Le Ber finishing top with 9 points and Noah Nicolle second with 7 points.
Tonight’s winning tables are:
Table 1 Lawrence Stacey. 2 Ben Foss. 3 Josh Stacey. 4 Craig Dunning. 5 Shelby Timms. 6 Ben Foote.
7 Terry Trustum. 8 Albie Lihou. 9 Aiden Ozanne. 10 Alex Hutchinson 11 Ella Le Ber.
We would like to wish all our players in the Island Games good luck and also to Webby and his team and all the helpers. Let’s have a successful Table Tennis week and show everyone that comes to watch, what we are made of.
Until 19th July don’t be late 7.25 pm is the cut off time.
Never give up!!

Week 4 - 28th June
Hi Everyone
Tonight we had 12 tables of 4 and 1 table of 3 making a total of 51 players.
What a night. I would just like to remind everyone that due to Island Games the next summer league will be Monday 3rd July and then the next one after that will be Wednesday 19th July. I would just like to thank Fitch for giving me a hand last night in the absence of Keith.
On table 1 – Lawrence was the star but very good performance from Nye Matthew, Dawn Morgan and Craig Dunning. Dawn just lost to Lawrence 13-15 in the final game, Craig beat Dawn 11-8 in the final game and Nye lost to Lawrence in the final game, so strong performances from everyone.
Table 2 – Jez Powell and Jamie Ferbrache battled it out with Jez beating Jamie 11-7 in the final game putting him on top. Maurice James did well to take the first game off Jamie but after that Jamie was in control. Table 3 – Sam Clark played well to beat Ben Sharp over 4 games. Charlotte Casey beat Ben Foote but lost to Ben Sharp and Sam. Table 4 – There was a surprise win for Peter Vivian beating Andy Gill over 4 games. But Andy beat Joe Bourgaize 11-7 in the final game and also Brandon Ferbrache. But Brandon played extremely well to beat Peter and Joe finishing off in second place.
Table 5 – The young Barney Groves had an excellent night beating Shane Cotter, Andy Ferbrache and nearly Caden Brouard. Against Caden, Barney lost narrowly 12-10 in the final game. Against Andy he won the first game 18-16, lost 9-11, 13-15, won 14-12, 12-10.
Table 6 – Young Albie Lihou and Alex Hutchinson had a very hard table against the experienced Gary Willcocks and James Crocker with the latter finishing first and second. Table 7 – Henri Whitehorne was once again in fine form beating Richard Wellfair, Connor Powell and Erin Vaudin.
Table 8 – We had the young and the old with the experienced players of Ken Falla and Steve Martin and the younger being Cameron Powell and Noah Nicolle. The experience came through but not without a fight. Cameron took both Ken and Steve to 4 games. Table 9 – Ian Fitchet finished top overall but had a hard game against Mark Windsor beating him in the final game. Fitch also had to work hard against Derek Carter as one game was 17-19.
Table 10 – Jenny Powell and Aiden Ozanne both finished on the same points but as Jenny beat Aiden she finished top. Ollie Sparks did well to beat Seb Jennings in four. Table 11 – Rosemary Powell finished top with Hollie Jenkins second. But Rachel Sharp and Micah Cohen had a good game with Rachel winning in the final game.

Week 3 - 21st June
Hi Everyone
Tonight we had 9 tables of 4 and 1 table of 5 making a total of 41 players.
We had quite a few players missing due to an early start the next morning as the Senior Schools International in Ireland is being held this weekend so good luck to all our young players.
On table 1 – We had Dawn Morgan giving a good performance winning all of her matches and finishing top. The hardest match was between Joseph Bourgaize and Sam Clark with Joseph finally winning the match 16-14 in the final game.
Table 2 - This was a strong table with Jamie Ferbrache, Craig Dunning, Nye Matthew and Andy Ferbrache. Nye continues to show good performance getting himself ready for first division table tennis and came out on top. Jamie and Andy both finding it difficult to cope with Craig's cacky rubber, in fact I might have heard Andy say he should have stayed home!!!!
Table 3 – Terry Trustum played well, Shelby finished in second place on countback as she had the same points as Keith Opie but beat him. Erin Vaudin was also playing, nice to see Erin as she is just back from University until September. Table 4 – Some very close matches between Connor Powell, Charlotte Casey, Ken Falla and Mo James. Our very experienced Mo finished top but 4 matches out of 6 went to 5 games.
Table 5 – Ben Foote played very well beating Peter Vivian, Steve Martin and Derek Carter. The first two being team mates and both out to get Ben. Determined Ben beat Peter 11-6 in the 5th game and Steve in the 4th. Steve and Pete battled it out with Peter wining in the 5th game. Derek Carter also performed well and was very unlucky to lose to Steve 14-12 in the fifth game, you will get him next time Derek.
Table 6 – Brandon Ferbrache finished top and I would say has improved immensely in the past year, young Aiden Ozanne finishing in second place. Table 7 – This was a table with all young players, Alex Hutchinson, Cameron Powell, Barney Groves and Ollie Sparks. Barney finished in first place but had a tough game against Alex beating him in the 5th game. Alex and Cameron also had a hard match but this time Alex won in the final game.
Table 8 – This was a table of young and old. We had the very experienced Ian Fitchet and Rosemary Powell, then the younger ones Albie Lihou and Henri Whitehorne. By the way lovely to see Henri back with us as we haven’t seen him since last year. There were some very close games, so close that we had 3 players on the same amount of games so we then had to work out who had the most points out of all the games. This meant that Albie finished 1st with 93 points, Fitch and Henri both had 87 points but Henri beat Fitch so finished 2nd.
Table 9 – We had Richard Wellfair, Holly Jenkins, Cheryl Wingrave and Keith De Carteret. Richard finished first but Holly and Cheryl both had the same amount of points but Cheryl beat Holly so finished in second place.
Table 10 – This was a table of 5 players, Sabato Folmi, Leonardo Guariento, Ruth Vaudin, Noah Nicolle and Isla Bretel. Noah finished top with Sabato second, Leonardo third, Ruth fourth and little Isla 5th. Keep practising Isla you are improving every week.
The points table looks very exciting at the moment with a mixture of players young and old at the top.
Tonight’s winning tables are:
Table 1 Dawn Morgan. 2 Nye Matthew. 3 Terry Trustum. 4 Maurice James. 5 Ben Foote, 6 Brandon Ferbrache,
7 Barney Groves, 8 Albie Lihou, 9 Richard Wellfair, 10 Noah Nicolle.
Until next week, don’t be late 7.25 pm is the cut off time.
Never give up!!

Hi Everyone
Tonight we had 12 tables of 4 making a total of 48 players. It is still very early days but on table 1 we had Josh and Lawrence battling it out against each other once again with Lawrence finishing on top, again only beating his brother 11-9 in the 5th game.
Table 2 - Jez Powell proved himself beating Gary Willcocks, Keith Opie and Dawn Morgan the only game to go to 5 was Keith and Gary. Table 3 – Sam Clark played well to beat Jamie Ferbrache in the final game which meant he finished in top position. Table 4 – Craig Dunning obviously managed to mess up against his opponents with his caky bat taking out Steve Ozanne, Derek Carter and Steve Martin.
Table 5 – Shelby Timms one of our most improved players won her table with Charlotte Casey finishing in second place, two of our players taking part in the Island Games. Table 6 – We had our young players apart from Ben Foote who managed 2nd place with Connor Powell winning all of his games against Ben, Ollie Sparks and Aiden Ozanne. Aiden also had a very good game against Ben but lost 8-11 in the 5th.
