Division 1
Whistlers A
won their second match of the season with a 7-3 victory over the side at the
bottom of the 1st Division, Specsavers. Mark Pipet showed his superiority over
the opposition by defeating Mark Fallaize, Jeremy Tan and Neil Hastie. Martyn
Gaudion added a victory over Fallaize and 2nd division reserve Lawrence Stacey
accounted well for himself, defeating both Tan and Hastie in tight 5 game
encounters. Gaudion and Pipet teamed up to defeat the Specsavers' pairing of
Hastie and Fallaize in a straight games doubles victory to polish off the win.
Hastie and Tan both added consolation wins, each defeating Gaudion and Fallaize
added a straight games victory over Stacey.
Division 2
League
leaders Whistlers C remain at the top of the 2nd division despite not playing
this week due to having their ghost week. Whistlers D made up some ground
following a 7-3 victory over St Pauls A and now lie just 2 points behind the
leaders. Kevin Marsh was on top form for the victorious side, winning all 3 of
his singles encounters over Trevor Bourgaize, Bob Cherry and Maurice James.
Derek Webb added 2 victories over Cherry and James and Lawrence Stacey did
likewise, by defeating Bourgaize and Cherry. Bourgaize scored a hard earned
first ever victory over Webb, James edged a tight 5 game victory over Stacey
after trailing by 2 games and the pair teamed up to defeat Marsh and Stacey in
a straight games doubles victory.
Division 3
Lions H
remain at the top of the 3rd division after making it 7 wins out of 7 via an
emphatic 9-1 triumph over Whistlers F. Neil Rabey and Lionel Jones each won
their 3 singles encounters against Rob Lihou, James Lihou and reserve Ben Rolph
and they also teamed up to claim a 4 game doubles victory over Rob and James
Lihou. Graham Mallett added 2 wins over Rolph and James Lihou, however he was
edged out in 5 games by Rob Lihou, which in turn spared the blushes for the
Whistlers side.
Division
4
Whistlers M
remain at the top of the 4th Division by a single point, but dropped their
first points of the season following a closely contested 5-5 stalemate with 2
man Panthers D. Stefan Sayer was instrumental for the Panthers side, winning
all 3 of his singles encounters over Ben Rolph, Dave Herquin and James Rabey.
Andre De Carteret added a 4 game victory over Rolph and he was also on hand to
win the vital doubles clash with Sayer over Rolph and Rabey, also in 4 games.
