The final round of Summer League was played last week, congratulations to Lawrence Stacey on claiming the overall title.  Also thanks to Kay Chivers and Keith Opie for running another successful league

Week 12 Report

Hard to believe that summer league is now over for 2019.  We had another very good turnout especially with it being the North Show.

Keith and myself have enjoyed running the summer league because we know how much you have all enjoyed it, therefore we are looking forward to seeing you all again next year.  We would like to thank Ben and Monty for putting it on the website something we just weren’t born to do.  Also to Len Bretel who isn’t well enough to play table tennis anymore but prepared all the summer league books for us, thanks Len very much appreciated.

Well it was a very close call in the end but finally Lawrence came out on top beating his brother Josh 86 points to 83.  Congratulations Lawrence and for anyone interested we will be doing the presentation on Monday September 16th before the St Pauls handicap tournament begins.

On table 2 we had Ben Foss who won all of his games but much improved this summer Ryan Gilson came 2nd with 7 points losing to Ben over 4 sets.

On table 3 Joseph Bourgaize played very well winning all of his games, keep practicing Joe for when you come back to the Island permanently.   Chas Elliott came second with 7 points and has been pretty consistent during the summer league.

On table 4 Mark Fallaize returned to us after being away for 1 year and still managed to win all of his games with Steve Ozanne coming in second place.

On table 5 Steve Martin had a good evening winning all of his games.  Unfortunately for Oscar Pearson who was looming in 3rd place didn’t have such a good night and only won 1 game.  Never mind Oscar everything to go for next year.

Table 6 was very close with Terry Trustum coming first with 8 points but Ian Fitchet 2nd with 7 points even though he had beaten Terry 3-2, it’s a funny game.

On table 7 Dave Finn had a comfortable evening.  Probably the most exciting game was between Brian Le Cras and Shane Cotter.  Brian won the first 2 games but then Shane won the 3rd game 19-21 and then went on to win the next two and finished up in second place.

On table 8 going out with a bang Rob Vile finished with 9 points with a close Mick Ingrouille on 8 points.  Rob managed to beat Mick 14-12 in the 5th game.

Finally on table 9 Shelby Timms finished first with 9 points with her sister Tia close behind with 8 points.

Week 12 winning tables are:

Table 1 Lawrence Stacey. 2 Ben Foss. 3 Joseph Bourgaize. 4 Mark Fallaize. 5 Steve Martin. 6 Terry Trustum . 7 Dave Finn. 8 Rob Vile. 9 Shelby Timms.

Until next year.  Á la perchoine

Never give up!!
