![]() Alice Loveridge was in superb form at the Senior Six Nations in Largs. In the singles event, she reached the semi-finals only to lose to England's Emma Vickers. Earlier, she had won her qualifying group and defeated Ireland's Katie McGlone at the quarter-final stage. But in the preceding team event, Loveridge had the satisfaction of defeating both Vickers and Karina Le Fevre. Vickers was despatched 11-6, 11-4, 11-4 and Le Fevre in four. Partnered by young Chloe Le Tissier, they held a two sets to one advantage in what would ultimately be the decisive doubles. But the England pairing came through 3-2, nicking the fourth 12-10 to stay alive and then romping through the final game 11-1. Ultimately, Guernsey's women finished bottom of the pile after a 3-2 loss to Scotland, 3-1 to Ireland and 3-0 to Wales. In the men's, Garry Dodd and Josh Butler defeated Jersey's Josh Band and Tyler Gosselin 3-0 to avoid the wooden spoon. Butler also reached the final of the men's plate singles before losing to Welshman, Callum Evans. |
