Division 1 Lions A remain 6 points clear at the top following the conclusion of the 3rd and penultimate round of matches in the 2011/12 season. They breezed past an under strength Cenkos Panthers A team 9-1 in a match where Phil Ogier and Liam Robilliard each recorded wins over Matt Stubbington and reserves Neil Hastie and Andre De Carteret. Paul Hainsworth defeated Hastie and De Carteret, but he was edged out 15-13 in the 5th by Stubbington, which was the same score that Stubbington lost to Robilliard by. The doubles encounter was won by Hainsworth and Robilliard over Stubbington and Hastie in straight games. Whistlers B continue to ensure that they are in the mix for the honours by defeating Cenkos Panthers C 7-3. Alice Loveridge and Mark Pipet made sure of the win by each defeating Paul Marshall, Jeremy Tan and Mark Fallaize. They also teamed up to win the doubles encounter against Marshall and Tan in straight games. All of the Panthers side earned a win over Whistlers 2nd division reserve Harry Lewis. Cenkos Panthers B moved ahead of their A side into 3rd after posting a hard fought 6-4 win over Whistlers B. Jez Powell followed up on last week's 3 wins by defeating Lawrence Stacey, Joshua Stacey and reserve Ian Fitchet. Reserve Sam King had an excellent evening and defeated Josh in 5 games as well as getting the better of Fitchet. Martin Sarre completed the win by defeating Fitchet. Division 2 Whistlers C retained their 100% winning record by defeating Lions B 8-2 in their 17th victory of the season. Kay Chivers and Alex Robinson both beat Tim Le Page and Mike Lucas. Keith Opie beat Lucas and the Whistlers side also gained 3 games via walkover. Le Page prevented the whitewash by beating Opie in straight games. He also teamed up with Lucas to record an impressive 4 game doubles win over Chivers and Opie. Division 3 League leaders St Pauls B remain unbeaten at the top by 4 points and had a ghost week. Division 4 Lions K maintained their slender 2 point lead after brushing Whistlers L aside 9-1. Chloe Le Tissier and Val Guilbert were both undefeated after beating Shane Cotter, Ryan Bichard and Alex Dekker. Di Le Page beat Bichard and Dekker and also paired with Le Tissier to win the doubles encounter over Dekker and Bichard in straight games. Whistlers' only win came as Cotter overcame Le Page in 4 games |
