TABLE TENNIS IN GUERNSEY
Guernsey has approximately 150 adult league table tennis players and approximately 100 juniors receiving regular coaching and playing in the junior or senior league. There are four affiliated clubs (Lions, Ravenscroft Panthers, St Pauls and Whistlers), all of which play at the Guernsey Table Tennis Centre at La Hougue du Pommier, Vale. An ladder-style summer league runs from June to August for GTTA members and visitors by special arrangement.
The Island Championships are contested in March each year at the Guernsey Table Tennis Centre. Age categories range from Under 11's to Over 70's. Winners of each category subsequently play their Jersey counterparts to compete in the Channel Islands Championships.
Guernsey players compete in various competitions off island including the British League, British Schools tournaments and Island Games.
For the socially inclined, the Social League runs on Tuesday evenings at the Guernsey Table Tennis Centre. This League is particularly suited to beginners and lower division players.
Various other tournaments are held throughout the table tennis season, details of which can be found in the GTTA diary
